Hint: if you have pure data folders, "Copy" or "Move" them directly using standard methods and delete them from the source machine. But I recommend the program - there's nothing else like it, and it works. 11.0 Professional with HP SmartFriend Bundle - 1 User - Download - PC. If you do not enter a valid license key, you will only be able to use Laplink SafeErase as a trial version with a limited functionality.

One serial number equals one use of the program. Laplink SafeErase needs to be licensed per computer in other words, you have to purchase a license for each computer where you want to employ Laplink SafeErase. And they make sure you cannot "Move" their own program.

PCmover is the ONLY software that automatically transfers applications, files, settings, and user profiles from an old PC to a new one It’s the easiest way to move to a new PC without leaving anything behind, even when there are. They continually update the program and have no control over how old the retail stock is (including mail order). No rating value average rating value is 0.0 of 5. You must register and activate it online, and PC Mover works ONCE, for ONE migration of one machine to another. A program disk is included but the documentation tells you to download the latest version. If you buy a retail version, you are basically buying a serial number. Those same programs would not work if you installed them fresh into Vista-64.Īnother advantage is that if you have junk in your registry from deleted programs, it will ignore and not move that registry junk, because PCMover basically checks and follows only existing, non-deleted, applications programs through the registry, moving only the registry items that a program actually calls or checks. The problem here is that some older programs may not work with Vista-64, and that is not a problem with PCMover.

All other programs I've tried move and work correctly without asking for serial numbers or activation.

I think Microsoft made Laplink disable fully moving their programs. But their program and data files are moved correctly. The only exceptions are most Microsoft and Adobe applications - they will ask for the serial numbers again and you may have to "activate" them again. PCMover moves the programs, the data files associatied with the programs, AND the registry entries (including serial number derived registry entries). PCMover does just what it says - it will move your programs and settings and shortcuts from one machine to another, and they will work without installing them again. I've used PCMover several times, but never moving to Vista 64.
